About Us
The Casey-South Melbourne Cricket Club (CSMCC) was established in the 2005/06 Premier Cricket Competition in season 2005/06 from its foundation club, the South Melbourne Cricket Club.
The South Melbourne Cricket Club (SMCC) was founded in 1862 and was an integral aspect of community life in South Melbourne and was influential in the formation of the Victorian Cricket Association in 1906 from which the current Premier Cricket Competition has now evolved.
The club was relocated to the Casey Fields sports and recreation precinct in Cranbourne East for season 2006/07 having previously played at the Lake Oval until 1994 and the Harry Trott Oval until 2005.
The club has a proud history with more than 150 first-class players and has been represented by nine (9) Australian Test Captains; more than any other club in Australia. Forty-seven (47) International players have represented the club of which eight (8) of these have been listed amongst Wisden’s “International Cricketer of the Year”.
